Next Time I’m Going
I’m Not Bringing You

Performance, Internet
Length: 10 minutes

“I’d spent my first Iowa winter reading Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke and binging Star Trek: The Next Generation. I was consuming a lot of stories about leaving and leaving Oklahoma had been so great that I jokingly considered other ways of leaving. Leaving my body, leaving this planet - etc.  Influenced by the WFMU show Techtonic with Mark Hurst, I had been planning on deleting my social media for some time and it seemed like the closet way I could reach Pluto was to commit virtual suicide. I created this magic trick that involved donning a uniform, putting on a tinfoil helmet, entering my space ship and instead of taking off to parts unknown I deleted my facebook.” -JJ
